It is a dangerous time to not be bourgeoisie.

The laws and regulations in this country, and our legal system in general is operative to screw over the little guy and to ensure that the “haves” not only maintain their position in the oligarchy, but grow even more wealthy and powerful. This has been true for a long time, but has become much more pronounced since the Bush administration has been in power.

In a time span of one month, 16 West Virginia coal miners died in at least three separate incidents. Could this have anything to do with the fact that the Bush administration has eased federal safety regulations for the benefit of mining corporations? Does anyone seriously think that members of the coke-snorting, yacht-owning, beluga caviar-eating secret society class gives a shit about coal miners, or any other blue collar workers?

The wealthy, whose primary form of income comes from capital gains, pay at most 15% capital gains tax, whilst the average Joe American pays 38% earned-income tax.

Our legal system is set up such that entities who can afford lawyers can push around people who can’t.

Spend some time over at The Snowsuit Effort.

Do not let Amway/Alticor/Quixstar/Team of Destiny “Multi-level Marketing” swine Dick DeVos win the governorship in Michigan.
